How to read this metric
What it measures
Organic CTR is the percentage of users who saw your website listing in search results and actually clicked on it. It measures the “attractiveness” of your search snippet (Title Tag + Meta Description).
Why it matters
A higher CTR means more traffic from your existing rankings. It is also widely believed to be a secondary ranking signal - if users consistently choose your listing over others, search engines may move you higher up the page.
How to improve organic CTR
- Compelling Title Tags: Use emotional triggers, numbers, and clear benefits to entice the click.
- Optimized Meta Descriptions: Write a clear “mini-ad” that summarizes the value of the page and includes a call to action.
- Use Structured Data: Implement Schema markup to earn rich snippets (stars, prices, FAQs) that make your listing stand out.
- Avoid Truncation: Keep your titles under 60 characters and descriptions under 155 to ensure they display fully in search results.
